Once upon a time, a little girl was in a horrible accident and lost her eyesight. Every day for months on end, she would tearfully ask her mother, "Mommy, when am I going to be able to see again?" This went on for several months. Finally one day her mother said to her "Sweetheart, ever since your accident I've been saving up my money to buy a special cream that will fix your eyes. I finally have enough money, so I'm going to buy it today." That evening, the girl's mother applied the cream and wrapped her daughter's eyes in bandages. She told her daughter "Okay Sweetie, this needs to work overnight. First thing in the morning, we'll take off the bandages and you'll be all better." That night, the little girl was so excited she could hardly sleep. When morning came, the little girl was shaking with excitement as her mother removed the bandages. The little girl opened her eyes, blinked, looked around... blinked again, looked around some more... "But... but Mommy, I still can't see!"
Her mother said to her very sweetly and gently, "I know, Sweetie. April Fools!"
I know, I made this same entry last year. But at least this time I used the proper form of "cream". (Last year I spelled it "creme". Sorry 'bout that. I was probably drunk.)
